We had a fun holiday last week! The students were dressed in fun costumes, but still managed to do some great work and learning. I appreciate their hard work on such a fun day. For our class party we decorated cookies, placed BINGO, and a haunted mansion math game. Check out their fun costumes below!
Our class is writing an ABCs of Cache Valley book. We went on a field trip to learn about some historical sites in Logan that would be fun to use in our class book. I have included pictures below. We visited the Logan Tabernacle, Thatcher Opera House (now the Wells Fargo Bank), Caine Lyric Theater, Bluebird Restaurant, Coppins Hallmark (which used to be J.R. Edwards Salon), and the County Courthouse. The students kept information about each location in their writing notebooks. We just started writing pages for our ABC books. I have included the link below for students. This link allows them to edit and add to our book. We will be doing this in class. Please help out by not editing the book without permission. When we are done I will post the site to view the finished product. Thanks!! Mrs. Olsen
ABC Book Our first week of school we got to launch rockets!! The students were learning to work together as a team. They had to construct the rocket and make sure it would fit on the launcher. Then they launched to see how far it would go. The second launch would check for accuracy. They tried to land their rocket inside a circle. We will be pulling out the rocket launcher again!!
I was reading a book last night called Fearless. I think it is very interesting, but not my favorite book. Some of my favorite books include:
Ella Enchanted The Blue Sword Harry Potter (any of the them, but I like 3 the most) Rules Holes The Lightening Thief The Westing Game Do you have a favorite book? Share some of your favorite books here. |
