The first two weeks of school include activities to get to know each other and learn to work as a team. Here teams are launching the rockets they spent time building.
Here's a look at our classroom!
Our Class ABC Book
The students just finished an ABC book on Cache Valley. The students work as a whole class, partners, and in small groups to complete the pages. They did their best work and worked hard! They had a dead line and they did great. We might do some final editing after the Thanksgiving break, but check out what we got done! They did a great job.

Reading Levels!!
At Adams Elementary we use Lexile and AR reading levels to assign reading levels to each book. Our school library has most books leveled using the AR system. We have been using the SRI Comprehension Test and that gives a lexile level. To help you and your student decide what book is a good fit for you I have included this chart. The colors on the AR levels match the colored AR stickers on books in the school library. I will be coding our class library in lexile levels so it would be helpful for your student to know both levels for their books. The more books they can read on their level, the more successful they will feel.
I have included a link above to help determine the lexile level of a book. Go to the website and type in the title of the book. It will give you the level of that book and others by the author or in the same category. This leveling tool is from Scholastic.com, but you can also use the Lexile.com website to book searches. As I leveled our class library I had to use both sometimes to find books. I hope this helps! Let me know if I can provide any other support for picking books!

KSL Weather Lab
As part of our Salt Lake Field Trip we went to the KSL Weather Lab at the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. While there our class performed an experiment for weatherman Grant Wayman and two of our students were guest meteorologists. Click Here to watch what was shown on the news on Tuesday, May 17.
